Modify Test Event - Test Event History

You can view and update individual test events associated with a student profile. You can view the details of each test event; include or exclude an event from reports, or reassign a test event from one student to another.

You might use this feature when:

• A student has both valid and invalid test events. Use this feature to make sure only accurate and valid test events appear in reports.
• A student took the wrong test. For example, the student chose the wrong math test (such as math numeracy instead of combined math all goals) from the list of math tests available.
• The wrong test was assigned to a student. For example, the student took a MAP test, but should have taken a MAP for Primary Grades test.
• A student who took a test chose the wrong student name from the list.
• The wrong student name was chosen for the student. For example, two students have similar names and the wrong student profile was included in the testing session for a student.

Buttons

Selecting a test event activates the buttons on this page.

View Details: Click to see result details for all questions on the selected test.

Reassign: Click to assign the selected test event to a different student.

Include in Reports: Click to include the selected test event in MAP reports. (Active when there is no checkmark in the Included in Reports column.)

Exclude from Reports:Click to exclude the selected test event from MAP reports. (Active when there is a checkmark in the Included in Reports column.

Column Descriptions for View Details

When you select a test event and click View Details, a new window opens on top of the event history list, detailing the results of the selected test. Details include:

Item Sequence: Displays item number only for each test question.

Result: Displays "Correct" or "Incorrect" for each item.

Estimated Duration: Displays approximate time, in seconds, student took to complete the item.

Item Calibration: Displays the difficulty of that item on the RIT scale for that subject.

Interim Achievement Estimate: Displays ability estimate based on the student's response. Used to identify the level of difficulty for the next question.

Field Descriptions for Basic Student Information

Fields include:

Name: The student's name associated with this test event.

Gender: The student's gender.

Date of Birth: The student's birth date.

Student ID: The student's ID.

Field Descriptions for Test Event History

Fields include:

Test Event: The test event name associated with the student profile.

Start Date: The date (mm/dd/yyyy format) the test event began.

Start Time: The time the test event began.

Duration: The total time in minutes the student took the test. If a student rushes through a test, giving the test event a very short duration, the test event is considered an invalid test event and is excluded from MAP reports.

End Date: The date the test event ended.

Score: The RIT score, which reflects the student’s overall achievement level in the test subject. Typical scores range between 150 and 300. (Refer to the Technical Manual for MAP and MPG, which is available from your NWEA Partner Relations Representative.) Use this score along with the Standard Error value to determine which valid, completed test events to include in reports.

Standard Error: The measure of the accuracy or precision of a test event. Smaller values indicate a test event is more accurate; whereas higher values reflect less accuracy. Typical values range from 2.5 (more accurate) to 3.5 (less accurate).

Test Status: The status of the test. The only values you see are Completed or Terminated.

Included in Reports?: Indicates whether a test event appears in MAP reports.

• Checkmark: Test event is included in MAP reports.
• Dash: Test event is excluded from MAP reports.
