DesCartes Reports

DesCartes is an instructional resource that translates student scores to relevant learning statements. Each DesCartes learning statement describes the skill or concept measured by one or more items in the MAP assessments and is associated with a specific RIT range, as well as the goal and content of state standards.

Instructors or Administrators can review the groups of learning statements associated with the student’s RIT score range and predict the percentage of state test items students would answer correctly.

Instructors can use this information to help plan instruction for students to whom MAP assessments are administered.

Skills and concepts listed in DesCartes learning statements are contained in the NWEA test item banks, as well as defined by NWEA curriculum specialists.

For information about each part of the DesCartes learning statements, see DesCartes Explained.
