More About Student Experience
The length is typically between 5 and 20 minutes, depending on what you assign. For details, see the Test Comparison.
Teachers can re-assign the same test as often as needed. Once assigned, students can then re-take the test.
No, assignments remain available to students, even after the Due Date is past. As an option, you can click Reassign in the Assignments tab to update the Due Date. However, once a student has started an assigned mission, you cannot remove or change it.
For lower-level skills, students have the option to hear parts of the question read through audio playback. Audio playback is available for:
- All subjects, except reading
- Skills in K to 2 grade levels
- All supported browsers and devices, including iPad
To enable audio, select Make Audio Available in the mission assignment settings. Tell students to click the speaker icon:
Why not reading:
Audio playback is not available for reading comprehension missions, because they are intended for students who are readers (reading to learn, not learning to read). To provide information about the student's comprehension skills and strategies, the student needs to read the passages and all of the questions without audio playback. Although the skills framework reaches down to grade 1, the intention is only to locate comprehension skills below grade level, not to assess developmental reading skills.
