Searching for Student Profiles

A student profile is a collection of information that uniquely identifies a student. A number of MAP system tasks require you to first search for student profiles. This procedure explains the basic steps for conducting a student profile search.

Steps

To search for students:

  1. In the left navigation pane, select Manage Students.

  2. Specify the criteria for your search.

    For details, see Search Criteria Field Descriptions.

    You can search by Student ID, first name, last name, or by specifying a date range during which the profile was created.

  3. (Optional) To filter for additional criteria, select a term from the drop-down list to see additional fields.
  4. Click Search.

    The search results lists student profiles that match your search criteria.

Sometimes a search for student profiles can yield undesired results or no results. These steps explain how to revise your search criteria when this occurs.

To revise a search for user profiles:

  1. Click anywhere on the Search Criteria banner to expand that section.
    The criteria used in the previous search appear.
  2. Modify the existing criteria as needed, or click Clear and enter all new criteria.

  3. (Optional) To filter for additional criteria, select a term from the drop-down list to see additional fields.
  4. Click Search.
    The Search Results section lists the student profile(s) that match your new criteria.
