Student Growth Summary Report

This MAP report summarizes growth of students per term in a school or district by subject and grade. It is primarily used to understand academic growth, review growth compared to a set of growth norms, and compare academic growth by ethnicity, gender, or program for a particular grade.

Your district must have declared testing complete for the selected term before this report can be successfully generated. Also, students must have valid test events in both terms of the selected term pair to be included in this report. This report is available only for the following term pairs:

• Fall-to-fall
• Spring-to-spring
• Fall-to-spring
• Fall-to-winter

Required Roles

You must be assigned at least one of the following MAP system roles to access this report:

• Administrator
• Assessment coordinator

Field Descriptions

Use the following required fields to order this report:

Term: List of terms (presented as season and year) for which this report is available. Growth summary projections are available only for the fall, winter, and spring terms. Defaults to the current or most recent fall, winter, or spring term.

Aggregation: Determines the level of data aggregation for the report.

• By District summarizes test event data for all schools in the district.
• By School summarizes test event data by school.

Note: The option to aggregate by district is only available to Assessment Coordinators. Administrators can only order a Student Growth Summary Report that contains data for schools with which they are associated.

School: List of schools in your district (available when aggregation By School is selected). Includes selected schools in the report.

Note: Schools are associated with a selected term. If you choose a different term, the list of available schools may change.

Use the following options to format and display report results:

Optional Grouping: Organizes and calculates results by gender, ethnicity, or program. This grouping is coupled with the aggregation chosen in the options above.

Comparison Period: Identifies terms to be used as the basis for analyzing student growth.

Small Group Display: Overrides the report summary default and reports summary data for groups of fewer than ten students with growth test scores. Because summary data for small groups is not statistically reliable, it is typically not included in reports.

Ordering a Student Growth Summary Report

Use the following procedure to order this report:

1. On the MAP Reports landing page, click Student Growth Summary Report.

2. On the Student Growth Summary Report page, select a term.

   Note: Only fall, winter, and spring terms for which testing has been declared complete are included in the list.
   

3. Choose to aggregate report data by district or by school. This option requires the Assessment Coordinator role in the MAP system.
• If you selected Aggregation By School, select schools to include in the report.
• Schools are listed alphabetically. Use the table pagination controls to find a specific school for selection.
4. Modify the format and display of your report in the Report Options section.

5. Click Create Report.

   The Student Growth Summary Report page appears.

Note: You can print or save this report or you may access it later through the Reports Queue.
