Reconcile Errors - Instructor or Additional Users Error

Use this page to choose an option for correcting a record that has an error. After you reconcile the error, click Save and Next to continue.

Tip: Before you reconcile this error, you may want to first export a list of errors, so that you can make corrections in your student information system or other data source. To export errors, click Return to Error Summary, and then click Export Errors. Note that the export list does not include errors after you have reconciled them.

Error Reconciliation

The following table lists available options for each error and what happens when you choose an option.

Error Message Available Options Consequences for Selected Option
More than one exact match found for this user profile. Do not reconcile at this time. Temporarily skips over the record so you can reconcile the error later.
Update the following selected user profile with the incoming record. Overwrites the existing record.
Do not import incoming records that contain this user profile. Excludes the incoming record from the import.
No exact match was found for this user, but one or more candidate matches have been found. Do not reconcile at this time. Temporarily skips over the record so you can reconcile the error later.
Update the following selected user profile with the incoming record. Overwrites the existing record.
Create a new user profile for this user. Creates a new profile based on the incoming record’s data.
Do not import incoming records that contain this user. Excludes the incoming record from the import.

User Name found in system but it does not match the incoming record.

 Do not reconcile at this time. Temporarily skips over the record so you can reconcile the error later.

Update the following selected user profile with the incoming record.

Overwrites the existing record.

Update User Name in the incoming record with the following.

Imports the incoming record, but with the alternate user name you provide, such as JSmith.

Do not import incoming records that contain this user.

 Excludes the incoming record from the import.
More than one match found for this profile, and user name matches a different user profile. No reconciliation is necessary.

Instructor/additional user profile will not be imported. Resolve the errors through Modify User Profile and then add the teacher/additional user manually.

 Excludes the incoming record from the import.
