Manage Users

You must be assigned at least one of the following MAP system roles to manage users:

• System administrator
• Assessment coordinator
• Data administrator

Note: You can create and modify profiles only for users with the same or lower permissions than your own. For information about permission levels and tasks that each role can perform, see User Roles and Permissions.

Create User: Open User Profile page and enter information to assign user roles.

Search: List profiles matching the search criteria you have specified.

Clear: Reset all the fields on this page to blank so you can start over with new search criteria.

Cancel: Return to the home page.

Include Inactive Users: If checked, the search also includes any user profiles that have been inactivated in the MAP system. By default, the search finds only active profiles.

Search only for users that do not have an e-mail address: If checked, the search locates only user profiles that do not include e-mail addresses. This can be helpful for finding users who did not receive initial login information because their e-mail addresses were not in the system.

Last Name/First Name: This can be the first one or more characters of the name followed by an asterisk (*) wildcard character to find all names that start with the first characters. The name can be up to 65 characters long.

Date Range: Range of days within which the user profile was created. The range can be a single day.

From: First day of the range. If left blank, the search starts from when your district first began using the Web-based MAP system.

To: Last day of the range. If left blank, the search ends with today.

User Role: Drop-down list of MAP roles. The search narrows to the role you select.

If you select the instructor role, the additional fields include:

Instructor ID: Complete instructor ID. Wildcards and partial instructor IDs are not allowed. The ID search is limited to 65 characters.

Term: Drop-down list of active instructional terms. To further narrow the search, you can also select a school that is active for the term.

If you selected an administrator or instructor role to narrow your search, additional fields appear that allow you to search through all schools or filter the search by school. For more information, see Searching for Student Profiles.

Select School: A Select School dialog appears from which you can search for and then select a school to use as one of the user search criteria.

If you select the administrator role, or if you select the instructor role and also select a Term, the additional fields include:

No school filter: If checked, does not narrow the search by school.

Filter by school: If checked, narrows results to administrators or instructors associated with a specific school. You must select a school.

Create User: The User Profile page appears. (See User Profile - Create/Update Profile and Creating a User Profile.)

The following buttons become active when you select a user profile that was returned by the search.

View/Update: View or make changes to the user profile. The User Profile page appears, showing the current user information.

Delete: Remove the user profile from the system.

Inactivate Profile: Prevent the user from logging in to the MAP system while maintaining the profile data. This can be useful when the user is not currently employed by the district but may be again at some point

Activate Profile: Click to reactivate a profile that is currently inactive.

Last Name: User’s last name.

First Name: User’s first name.

Middle Name: User’s middle name or initial.

Instructor ID: User's identifier. The district uses the ID to uniquely identify an instructor. A value of N/A means the user profile does not include the instructor role. A value of "-" means the user profile includes the instructor role, but does not specify an instructor ID.

Profile Created On: Date when the user profile was originally created, including month, day, and year.

Active: Active profile is indicated by a checkmark. User has access to the MAP system.
